Daffodil Parade & Bootleg Car Show

For those of you who were fortunate enough to get out and enjoy the 78 degree weather on April 12th at Tacoma's Daffodil Parade and Bootleg Car Show, you were certainly in for a real treat.  The Harmon restaurant in Tacoma hosted the third annual Mustang car show in the Washington State Museum parking lot, and there were 160 cars in attendance (over 200 had to be turned away due to space availability).  For a mere $20.00 entry fee, participants were treated to a "smorgasbord" breakfast, two custom beer bottles with a picture of their car on the label, and the unique experience of having a front-row seat to the 2008 Daffodil parade.  In addition to this, participants and spectators alike were able to enjoy the music of 15 different Jazz & Blues bands in five venues, and military and high school marching bands in the parade.  However the true icing on the cake - all Bootleg Car Show proceeds went to Mary Bridge Children's hospital.  According to Russ Wilcoxson, "Everyone in attendance went away 99%  happy, show shirts sold out in 30 minutes, and the Harmon restaurant was thrilled to do a record-breaking $18,100 in business that day."

Keep your eyes open for upcoming announcements on Russ Wilcoxson's [Tacoma Events] next car show in Tacoma - 4th of July at the Lobster Shop.  There are only 60 slots available at this time, and for those who are lucky enough to snag a spot for the $25.00 entry fee, they will receive a dash plaque, a front-row seat to the celebration of the Tall Ships (this privilege will only be given to car-show participants) and the unique opportunity to have your car viewed by over 400,000 spectators.  Please contact Russ Wilcoxson at Traincycle@comcast.net for more information  as we are still working out all the details.
