"Maltby Christian Assembly Hot Rods & Hogs Show"

The Maltby Christian Assembly car show in June was for me what epitomizes Mustangs Northwest and why I joined this car club in the first place - Friends, Family, Fellowship, Camaraderie, Charity, Sunshine, and Nice Cars.  These are just some of the attributes that characterized that show.  Our very own Lance Lambert was the emcee (what a character he is!) and was a great addition to the show.  At last years' show, there were around 100 cars, and this year there were over 220 cars on hand for yet another spectacular event.  We had 22 cars represented from Mustangs Northwest, and since this was more than double the number of cars that any other club had there, we won the Best Club Attendance award.  Several MNW members even won awards in their respective categories, including best Mustang Convertible, Fastback, Coupe, and Awards of Excellence.  As we were leaving the show, all of the volunteers lined up and waved good-bye as we drove past and thanked us all for coming.  I thought that was a great gesture and thought, "Wow, we should be thanking them for such a well-run event."  The event was so much fun that I am already looking forward to next year's show.  Check out the video and .

Restomods in Reno

By Connie Trine

As we started off towards Reno Nevada at 4 AM, we were leaving cloudy, rainy Seattle for sunny 85-degree weather (the weeks temperature prior to our visit). It took us about 13 hours driving our 3 mustangs 852 miles. All through Oregon and Northern California it was pretty overcast and cloudy and we could hardly wait to reach our "Sunny destination". I don't know why I hoped this year wo uld be different since we had made this trek to "Restomods of Reno" (Memorial Day weekend) twice before. The first time at the show we encountered Thunder and Lightning. The second time it Snowed. Well we thought the third time would be the charm. Wrong! It rained all 3 days of the show. The rain didn't dampen our spirits. The show put on by Reno Mustang Car Club and sponsored by Mustangs Plus did suffer a bit. There were only about 110 cars (everyone got trophies) and in prior years there was approximately 300 car
s. Most of those cars were from California and they weren't coming across Donner Pass in the snow again this year. Friday night was supposed to be brag night but it was rained out. Saturday was the show and Sunday was the banquet followed by a cruise up to Virginia City. Fun was had by all! Everyone enjoyed seeing all the cars and the camaraderie of the Mustang hobby. There was everything from Stock to Wild Restomods. The highlight of the show on Saturday was when our own Larry Russell got down on one knee and proposed to Tannette Norton. Who could ask for anything more. All the things we love in one place – Family, Friends, Mustangs, Love and Rain. Yes, I do love the rain even at a car show! Oh! One more thing. If you see any of us, ask us about our tour of the "Mustang Ranch". Yes, it reopened in 2005 much to our surprise. We just wanted some souvenirs and pictures of our cars in front of their sign. We got so much more! Again, we had another great adventure with our friends and family of Mustangs Northwest. Memories – PRICELESS!
