Food Lifeline Volunteer Event
"Mustangs and Robots can get along….."
On October 18th, a bunch of kindhearted souls from Mustangs Northwest and four Mountlake Terrace High School Robotics Students, converged on Food Lifeline. This year's challenge: turn many 50 lb bags of rolled oats into 1 lb portions. The Mustangs Northwest folks all split up into three groups, and then we split the robotics students up as well to work with the "more experienced" Mustangers. We had a great time, and in 3 hours, we packaged over 3,096 pounds of rolled oats, providing 2,419 meals. The robotics students were even teaching Larry Russell a few new words! It was very rewarding to watch my robotics kids that I coach in my spare time, working with my Mustang buddies and just have an amazing morning of laughter and fun. While we were there, Lois Robinson presented Linda Nageotte, President and CEO of Food Lifeline with a check for $1,000 on behalf of Mustangs Northwest. There will be more opportunities for Mustangs and Robots to roam the halls of Food Lifeline in the future, so stay tuned for more volunteer opportunity announcements. You won't want to miss out! Announcing Joshua David Harroun Cooper Mustangs Northwest is proud to announce its newest Junior Member! Joshua David Harroun Cooper was born on Saturday October 25th at 9:17pm. Weighing in at 6 lbs, 7.2 ounces, and measuring 19.75 inches long, little Joshua surprised his unsuspecting parents by arriving three weeks early! Mustangs Northwest members Tom and Drema Cooper are the proud parents, and Scott and Lois Robinson are the proud grandparents. So when does this little guy get his first Mustang? With a Mustang-loving family tree like his, I am sure that it won't be long! Congratulations to the Cooper and Robinson families!
This was a night to remember. The night started off at Ford of Kirkland, who sponsored this event by donating 5 brand new convertible Mustangs. Hats off to Ford of Kirkland for this special donation.! As Parade Chairman for Mustangs Northwest, I can't thank you enough for this. Thank you very much and also thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Homecoming game. Ford of Kirkland also had a hotdog BBQ for all of the participants. We had 25 cars total, and everyone had a great time. Redmond High students, cheerleaders and staff gave us high fives at the front of the home grandstands for making their Homecoming halftime show a success.
