From The Prez - Jan 09

As I sit and write this month's article I am sitting by a warm fire and enjoying the beautiful snow that is falling upon us. I hope that all of you survived the storm and cold weather in December and of course protected those ponies in the garage. 2008 is now officially in the rear view mirror and Mustangs Northwest had a fantastic year again: Local Car Shows as well as MCA National and Grand National Shows, Picnic with a Pine Wood Derby at Dick & Karen Knights home, Banquets, Bowling, Volunteering at Food Lifeline, Four Days of Roundup, and General Meetings with a new visual direction. The common theme is always fun, camaraderie and community spirit. Your Mustangs NW team is hard at it again preparing to take you on another adventure throughout 2009 with a planning meeting in January to get a head start on the calendar of events. I would like to send a heartfelt Thank You to the 2009 Officers, Board Members, Committee heads and all of the volunteers. These are the folks who constantly and consistently step up to the tasks at hand to make this club what it is today. A fun place for all of us to enjoy the car hobby, to get with friends and to meet new ones. If you are new to Mustangs Northwest or just want to get involved we can always use your help. Mustangs Northwest has something for everyone. I am also proud to announce the charities that Mustangs NW contributed over $12,000 to in 2008. Make-a-Wish Foundation, Children's Hospital, The Forgotten Children's Fund, Little Red Schoolhouse, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer research, Food Lifeline, Northwest Harvest and Life Enrichment Opportunity's (LEO). This is all made possible by the success of Mustangs at the Mill, Roundup and Triple XXX car shows that you all worked so hard to make a success. On behalf of all Mustangs Northwest and all of the charities I Thank You. I am looking forward to serving as your President for 2009 and for the third year in a row. "What was I thinking?"
