“THANKS”

By Lance Lambert

Today started in my favorite way; a hot cup of coffee, a comfy couch and a couple of car magazines to read, including the latest issue of the Pony Express. Reading the various articles and reports left me with the same feeling attained when attending meetings and activities, visiting the web site and reading past issues of the Pony Express; this club is a family.

Several years ago, prior to my membership, I was asked to be the guest speaker at a MNW meeting. The first impression, upon entering the NSCC lecture hall, was that this is a large club; there were a lot of “students” in those seats. The second impression, having previously been a part time NSCC student, was what assignment did I forget to bring to class? The speaking “assignment” went well and the membership made me feel very welcome.

A few years later a 1988 Saleen Mustang began living in the Lambert garage. One of the first improvements to the car was to become a member of the MNW. I began attending meetings and events and, once again, was impressed with the friendly attitude of the membership and the feeling that this club is a family.

Many members work very hard to keep the club active and productive. Specific names will not be mentioned due to the fear that a very deserving member will not be included in the list. What I do want to mention is how much their efforts are appreciated. This club can’t continue being successful without the time and energy these members give to the club. I hope they know that the membership recognizes and appreciates their numerous hours and days of giving to the club.

Now it’s back to the couch to finish my coffee and magazines. I just wanted to take a moment this day to say thank you to the MNW members, especially those that make it such a great club and a great family.
