- June 12th, 2010: It is official parts of our Battalion will be redeploying back to germany early. Only sad part is about 3 to 4 companies worth will return, leaving 2 flight companies here til december though. My entire Company will be back by mid August, i am expected to return by the end of July or 1st part of August.
I will not have my personal internet in my tent after the 15th but will still be able to email you on my work computer. I still plan on sending what pics i can up unitl that point where i cannot.

This was some fun training here but well needed for my DART Security Team. We made four passes here on our FOB during this training. Of course the main thing is getting off the helicopter quickly, safely and getting into a defensive posture, once the aircraft clears and you can get up and move out to your objective. Also while inside i was able to wear a headset so i could hear the pilots and crew and give the 1 minute mark and then 30 seconds and from there i would transition from headset to my ACH. Most recently last night we did COLD static NVG (night vision) training with a helicopter. Of course next training event with NVG's we will actually fly and do what we did in these pictures except under drakness and NVG's, ought to be some good training for sure. Not sure if we will be able to get photos of that but will try. we did the training on the 24th of May, only where able to allow about 12 ANA Soldiers to shoot their new M16s but it was a good day. So from all that classroom training i did prior helped them out alot. During that day we did the Prone, Kneeling and Standing Position and later on that day i showed them some Reflux fire techniques (quick kill).
- April 4th, 2010: Happy Easter: Just wishing everyone a Happy Easter, have a great day with your family and friends. I have attached some photos of my first class teaching the ANA (Afghan National Army) on how to take apart and how to properly shoot the M16A2 rifle.

- March 14, 2010: To my friends and family, Just wanted to let everyone know that i am doing well and now i have internet at my work place. Things are going great here, can't complain, we have 2 hot meals a day, even though sometimes its not that great but hey its Army food, lol.
I would say because of weather and flights the mail is the biggest headache for everyone,, mail might come twice a week just depends and its been taking along time even from germany. Other than that just wanted to thank everyone that respond to Helen's emails with updates on how i was doing.
Just to let you know where i am at exactly, We are at Shindand Air Field, it is south of Herat and if you look to the west one of our favorite countries is right there hahahaha.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well, I may soon have internet in my living tent and if so I will try to send pics, just depends on the speed of the internet as well as from my work computer.
One note to everyone at Mustangs NorthWest, miss you all and have a great show season coming up.
In closing , I miss everyone very much and do hope everyone is doing well..
- February 14, 2010: Just letting everyone know that Danny's fiance, Helen said Danny made it safely to the forward location and is doing great. Stay tuned for photos, he currently does not have access to a computer....
- January 27, 2010: Just letting everyone know things can happen anywhere over here, the attack that happened at the base i am at targeting a prime minister from Bulgaria, however they will not say that a second rocket hit only 100 meters where we stay while waiting to move to a forward location. Good thing no US injuries!
- December 25th, 2009: To everyone in Mustangs Northwest, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to have a Happy New Year. I hope you all have a great holiday season and that everyone will stay safe through out this time of the year. I am currently in Kandahar, Afghanistan waiting to move forward to a location that of course i cannot mention and will be here for 1 year.
