Car Of The Month - May 10

Mynor Holmgren's Dark Blue 5.0 Convertible

I first started noticing Mustangs a lot more when I came to the United States.  I had not been exposed to many classic cars of any type except for just seeing them on television and in magazines.

It all began when I had the opportunity of driving a fox body during high school.  A friend of m y dad's asked me if I could help him by driving his car from Tacoma to Lynnwood.  I accepted like it was just another day, but I was thinking of how cool it would be to be driving on the freeway with a fast car.  The only thing that kept me from seeing what I had at the moment, was that I was following my dad, so I had to obey and behave.  A couple of times while driving, I would allow some space between my dad and I so I could feel the power of the 5.0 to catch up, and I sure caught up quickly.  That was one of the best opportunities I had to see what I was missing.

Another time, I was just the passenger in a 5.0, but it sure had some muscle under the hood.  I was unaware of everything that was in it, but I felt it when we took it for a spin for sure!

I first began with a white mustang 2.3 liter automatic, but after some years, I was lucky to find my dark blue 5.0 convertible.  It was just another summer day after doing some work that I decided to stop at a dealership that had a 2000ish Mustang.  I just wanted to look at it, but after walking into the dealership, I noticed that they were cleaning a fox body convertible Stang and I thought... I just want to look at it and see.  The next day I took my dad with me to look at what I had found.  We took it for a test drive and when returning to the dealership, I had a little meeting with my dad.  I thought it was now or never.  At the end of the day I was the proud owner of what I now have, a dark blue convertible 5.0.

I always have a great time cruising around in that nice Stang.

That is all for now folks!
